I would appreciate a critique on these Sydney City images.
I used a 350D using a 24-70 2.8 sigma lens.
Thankyou

I think 2 n 3 are certainly the best, the others arn't bad, but seem to lack sharpness. Maybe your F stop was too high? I don't know, could you post the exif?

They all look a little soft, but the colors in #3 are fantastic. That one would look great in a poster size, but it just needs to be a bit sharper.

I like the composition of the first one but would remove the boats and poles in the foreground. Sydney looks like a beautiful city.

Thanks for the comments.
I added the Exif data above each image.
I agree 4 and 1 are a little soft.

3, then 5, then 2. The rest are soft, and/or not as interesting to me.

Yeah, as others have said maybe slightly soft. Number 2 certainly works for me though. Although i think the horizon could do with a slight rotation to the left, but maybe i have wonky eyes? :)
I really like the perspective of shot 1 as ive never sen it photographed from there before, maybe have another go and try to get that shapness up!?

Good looking pictures. I love shooting in Sydney. I like #2, which lens did you use with these shots? I don't mind the soft look, but some of the shots are a little too soft. I do like your framing effect. I was going to say that I was surprised that no one mentioned the rotation of the image for the horizon, but then I saw ADEBASS did mention it.

When I shoot night scenes, I try to shoot F8 or slower. But it really depends on the effect you are going for as well.
You may have seen my most recent Sydney shot --> here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=177288). Both of these were shot at F22, but earlier in the evening. Some lighting from the sky is still visible. The first image is shortly after sunset, the second is just before.
Try the smaller aperature range to see if you like the effect.

Nice shots. Did you use any USM.
Did you shoot these in one night. You must have covered some ground getting to the various locations?

Some great shots there. Some of them however as I look closer especially if you loko at the Opera House there's a bit of softness.. i'm of course being very picky here because they are realy good shots.

nice shots,
considering the work you put into these some could do with some straightening.

Good compositions, although agree with the softness, don't think it's the F stop that's the culprit, possibly a flimsy tripod?
I also find the subjects a bit tight in the frame, they need a little more space to breathe.
I like where you are going with these, and hope you explore the subjects further.
