I know there has been many CF card posts, I just wanted to know if there were any general opinions or experiences of which cards I should stay away from.
I have a no name brand 256Mb now.. but want to get something else for back up..
Thanks all...

Other than read/write speeds, I'm not sure if there is much of a difference between any of the CF cards. I have a Viking, Sandisk, and a Kingston card, and they all seem to work exactly the same. I haven't had a problem with any of them (knock-on-wood) yet. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if many of them were actually made by the same manufacturer and just rebranded by different companies.

I have several types and have not had one fail yet.

I do reccomend the Lexar 12x as they seem to write from my 10D slightly faster then my memorex, Sandisk, or IBM microdrive I also have.

My first Lexar CF card has also survived the washing machine and water from river and is still working. Although after the river thing it had issues for awhile, but seems to be working again fine.

I ahve not read about any particular CF card brand having issues to date, some isolated batches, but not by brand.

Just my experience,
