# 2 Dinner served at almost every real Tex-Mex joint in San Antonio. Two enchiladas, one taco, rice and beans for about five bucks. Ummm Umm!!! Look for the smallest hole-in-the-wall restaurant you can find that has somebody's grandma cooking in back. Whatever you do, stay away from the river walk.

Thanks for all who participated. I appreciate the time and effor you spent to send your entries in for this topic. Everything looked delicious (well except the worms hehe). I'm going to try and comment on each pic since there's not a lot of entries this time anyway. Please understand these are only my opinions and how I see and react to the pics when I see them. Just also want to add that it's extremely difficult to judge the pics when you look at them during lunch time. Now, I gotta go eat!
Top three:
1. Salsa - MMMMMMM Tarts. Nice use of background color and you made those tarts look really nice. Im probably going to have to trust you that they are the best ever but they sure look good from your pics. Held my attention for awhile since I was looking at the different kinds and shapes.
2. Forumlated One - I Scream. Great use of DOF on this pic. It represents how I like to see my ice cream, just right before I eat it!
3. Edd S - An American Favorite. Not the most technically perfect photo since the lighting is kinda harsh but what a great capture! Your comments really made me laugh too and fits perfectly with what I saw.
The rest....
Stefan A - Awesome, awesome pic. Great detail and sharpness and good use of backlighting. It's just not enough food IMO.
Snowrdr - Same reason as above. NOticed you're entering some bird shots lately. Must be loving that TC on top of the 12x you get, huh ?
Teekay - Very interesting shot of a very interesting subject. I love mushrooms and you really brought out the many shades of brown in your pic. It was just missing something though that I can't put my finger on it.. Maybe a little more color around it or a different point of view instead of from the top down?
Estrugo - Chicken looks very appetizing but it leaves me wanting more. Maybe if the crop was less tight or if the point of view allowed the rest of the food on the plate to be visible...
Kadie - Similar to above. I liked the colors but it was shot too close to allow me to enjoy the view of the doughnuts, IMO.
Nwyman - My GF's favorite because it included a butt shot! :) Just a little too busy for me. Would have loved it if you can focus on the peppers and their colors.
Spur - Great looking plate you got there! Unfortunately I would have enjoyed it more if you were able to fix the white balance .
Gewb - Your photo amused me because it's not a question that I would usually ask but I'm glad that I know the answer to it now. I found it a tad too busy though so my attention could not settle on something in the photo.
O_T - ONe of those pics that look nice to me. Colors look good but it did not grab me as much as the top three. In my opinion, it might have needed a main subject to focus on, maybe something sitting on top of the salad ...

Good job everybody. Thanks fo the comments. I knew my photo wasn't the best for the subject, but I liked it so much that I thought I would use it. Believe it or not, it was shot through a glass door. I knew he would have ran if I even tried to open the door. But he posed for me for about 5 minutes.

:( I'm having trouble with the cropping of my pics... Second consecutive week
The napkin, my coke, and the tablemat, was too distracting to leave there...
Congratulations to the winners, and this was the most "delicious" contest until now (at least in my POTN member time)

So glad your GF liked the butt shot! I would like to have cropped it out, but lost too much of the rest of the pic that I liked.
I debated long and hard between this shot and one that was just vegetables, but I personally liked the "business" of the market scene, including the sunflowers and the price labels.
C'est la vie! At least it seems to have been in focus this week. <g>

Thanks for the bronze for this week. It was a quick, spur of the moment thing. By the time I thought of it and grabbed my camera, my son was down to the last piece! A hurried shot, but fun nonetheless.
In my opinion the two best quality pics were snowrdr's and estrugo's. Great shots!
Looking forward to this week's contest!

Dyle - Thanks for the second place vote..!
Congrats Salsa - Great pic, the color, the sharpness..Almost made me reach thru the monitor and take one..!
Congrats Edd S - Another good submission..And on my favorite food too, PIZZA..!
Nwyman - I really liked your shot..I lived in Maryland for a good part of 30yrs..Always enjoyed going to the farmers markets over on the eastern shore, brought back some memories..
Although there weren't alot of entries, the entries that were posted were great..
Looking forward to the next topic, and the great submissions we have every week..!

What's the matter Dyle, you don't like green and brown worms?:mrgreen::mrgreen:
Ha ha , just kidding. The TC-DC58B makes the S2 a great birding cam.
Congrats to the top three, great entries by all!
Nice job judging Dyle. Looking forward to this week's challenge.

Congratulations to the winners - I had correctly picked Salsa's tarts as the yummiest early on :D
Stefan A, who says there wasn't enough food in your entry? I was going to ask you whether you liked your gophers barbecued or fried ;)
My mushroom shot was originally taken to attach to a complaint to the supplier, and I only entered it out of sheer laziness and as a joke since they looked kind of gross.

Congratulations to the winners, great job. I was disappointed with Salsa though, I just knew all week she would enter some delicious SALSA!!!!   She may not have won with it but she would have been true to her name.;)
Thanks dyle for the best tasting challenge yet. I played around for a day and a half trying to get the white balance fixed. Could not even come close. This afternoon I sat down and in two min. had it better than anything all weekend. Oh well, it wouldn't have placed anyhow but it would have looked better.
I thought about entering some milk fed veal, but I couldn't resist those eyes.

I'm glad everybody enjoyed the challenge. It's not as serious as the previous ones but I sure had fun judging it. I was thinking about expermienting with food photography a little bit and your entries have given me some cool ideas.
