I would also be interested in this lens. I currently have the Sigma 15-30 which I enjoy using but even wider would be better. Have not seen any reviews yet of the 12-24, maybe it has not hit the shelves yet?

I notice you are in Edinburgh also so if you ever want to try out the 15-30 drop me an email.

I am also interested in this lens. Wide angle for digital is pricey though...

I don't think anyone has it yet. Adorama in the US advertises it for "pre-order" only.

Another month has gone by since this was last discussed here. Has anybody seen or heard anything yet? I do see Sigma advertising this thing pretty heavily now, and it does look good (on paper). It seems to me a sub-20mm lens would be kinda' neat to have.

I'm afraid to call any camera dealers to see if they're carring it now. If they say "Yes," I might be tempted to buy it, and that would not be good for the fragile truce I have going with my wife right now regarding my spending habits of the last six months.

i've just had a quick play with one in my local camera shop....feels nicely balanced on a 10D. only took a few quick snaps of the inside of the shop on their demo 10D but seems to be nice....very wide, no noticable distortion and sharp enough (who knows when its on the review LCD)

full time manual focusing ring, for filters you have to slot them in the back of the lens apparently.

shame i can't afford one at the moment or I would have traded my 17-35EX and bought it today.

Here in italy no one of my known friend has tested it yet..the only thing i hear often is that this lens semms to be a little too dark....i own with satisfaction a sigma 15-30 and i can say that is a good compromise between wide angle range and its price..

Looks like its not what people expected it to be and the 15-30 beats it for CA and vignetting. I wouldn't put one on your Xmas list that's for sure.
