Does anyone no if Canon is planning to make any improvements to the processor capabilities of the fixed lens product lines? Though I know it often seems to come down to Nikon and Canon around here, it seems that Fuji has done a pretty good job of getting great high ISO performance out of there new SuperCCD processor. I am just wondering if Canon is capable of competing at all on this level.
High image noise has been a problem in the results for my Powershot S1 and even through the more current models (S2 and S3) it seems to be a recurring theme. The Fuji FinepixF30 gets great results through ISO 800 when I wouldn't go beyond 200 for any of the Canon models. They have also just released the S6000fd/S6500fd, which is built more like the powershot S series but uses the same processor as the F30.
Like I said, I'm a thrilled supporter of Canon, but would just like to seem them come out with a better processor for their cameras that fall short of the DSLR status. (Not to mention that Canon at least has sense enough to stick to SD and Compact Flash...I have no idea what Fuji is thinking.)
