how do i downsize an image?

I am trying to send images through an email and they are 8 megapixles so i think that is why they will not send. how do i downsize them? thanks

What software do you have? (Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, PaintShop Pro etc.)

You will need to re-size the images to something like 640 - 800 pixels on the longest side to make them 'email friendly', Photoshop has a 'save for web' option that optimises the file size for this reason. All depends on your and the recipients internet connection as well. Most email servers don't like emails bigger than 5Mb (some are larger)
