View Full Version : Hummingbird with 70-200 2.8

I got this shot today of a female Ruby Throated Hummingbird. (The only Hummingbirds we get in Kentucky) Aperature was 2.8. I think it can be better. I used a monopod. Tomorrow I am going to try again with tripod and remote release and use smaller aperature, maybe 3.5 or 4. Comments and critique welcome. I am open to any suggestions for getting it better tomorrow.

Looks like you've got the basis of a good picture, but IMHO it looks rather like a picture of a big red feeder with a hummingbird on it, rather than the other way round.

Try cropping in, so that the bird is the main object rather than the feeder. But the colours in the bird look good, and you appear to have just the right amount of blur in the wings to indicate it was actually alive :lol: :lol:

Yeah when I saw the feeder not the bird. So I would crop it so the birds the main focus. Other than that it's a great shot nice and crisps.
