I ordered one of these on Monday night because of what you guys were posting. I've got a shoot for my aunt Saturday and I don't have strobes. I'd appreciate any CC. These were some candids taken with no prep or thought to posing.

Pretty much straight from the camera with a touch of sharpening...I did not adjust levels or curves so I think they'd even look a little better with some more post.

I'm more worried about getting good lighting than full post at this point.

Taken with the 20D, 24-70mm f/2.8, 550EX Big Flip It M Mode

Nice shots!
Do you mind posting your camera settings? i.e. f stop/aperture, iso etc
I am assumming your flash was vertical but what was the position of FlipIt?
I have the smaller version and still experimenting.
Thanks
pat

I added the data below each picture. I had the back plate straight up on some and slightly forward on a few others (don't remember which), I also had the diffusers on with all the shots.

What I like is there are no harsh shadows and nothing blown out.

Was the flash set to ETTl or Sync?
Thanks
Pat

"What I like is there are no harsh shadows and nothing blown out." That statement says it all. I love mine.

Hey taygull...I asked Pete this question I gotta ask you too....did you adjust the FEC at all?? I just got my confirm email tonight, mine is on the way, really excited to try this out as everyone seems to be having really fine results with it.

Nice shots you got too!

Thanks,
Tammie

No....I don't think so. I usually do when I'm using fill flash in AV Mode. I was in manual for these. I'm 99% sure I wanted to see what they did with out adjusting the FEC.
