I would like to add German as a second language option (only for the user in the browser interface, not editing). Is there a description of the procedure for doing this, which files to translate, etc.? If it is mostly "boilerplate" text that has to be translated to German, has anyone else done this already and would they be willing to make the files available?

Here are the updated translations of the User Interface of v1.5beta5:

The translations can be adjusted for your needs. It's quite simple, open the PHP-file with a text editor and change the string.

Many thanks for the translated files. I'm using 1.5b4, but I can copy in the appropriate info.

Hi Scho,
I have just done my works on the italian version files. All users can dowload the only upgrade files (in a ZIP archive) for the italian language, to get a real multilingual EE installation....
If you like having italian version, feel free to download it here:

HOW TO INSTALL
...........................
Unzip ee_lang_ita.zip archive and upload via FTP the folder "ita" in the folder "laguages" you find in your EE gallery directory.
Then go to your admin section, click on the button "languages" under the "SETTINGS" menu and add the italian language to the EE database and set it as "public". Finally click on the "update all languages" button. That's alla folks ;-)
Bye
Marco
PS: Please If anyone will translate the EE language files in another languages please let me know something in this forum. thank you very much! ;-)
