Photoshop with EE?

Hi,
Besides the problem, that I am not able to create a proper, working ftp and path - setup-system ;(

Question:
When I am uploading images directly into the different folders like Thumb, microthumbs and so on, than EE works.

Is there a disadvantage, when I do create my different sizes directly with photoshop (actions), and then upload into the different folders with a common ftp-program?
Do I have then also the full power of EE (except the automatic for resizing)?

I'm pretty sure that as long as you have the correct thumb and microthumb paths (URL settings in the path setup), you should be able to take advantage of all of the other features of EE (except the automatic for resizing)?

Using Photoshop actions instead of ImageMagick to resize the thumbnails, should be the only differences within the operation of EE.
