Apart from the fact you have to get down on your hands and knees, always worth looking closely in the lawn :)
Both shots are focus stacked

I love how the wolf spider blends into the bokeh... looks kind of etheral. The shield bug has a great pose too.

right angled viewefinder or swing out live lcd display would help you on the lawn. Good captures.

Very nice shots Brian, I must try getting down on the ground a bit more. I generally try and avoid it though in the heavy gardens as there could be funnelwebs in there (and you don't want to get bitten by one of them).

Fantastic stuff Brian.
I almost thought the spider moved while I was looking at it *shudder*. ;)

Thanks for the comments all :)
Hope I haven't missed the mummy wolf spiders carrying the babies on their backs.

Hiya Brian,
Very good shots, I too think the Spider shots best, they'd definitely come with white coats if I were spotted on all fours creeping round here, btw how come you got green grass mines all brown,
Cheers for now

agreed that the spider shots are the best.

Well done and love to see more of these scary critters.
I know you do want me not to sleep easy.

Thanks again for the comments, must admit I did think the wolf spider was kind of cute.
Mark- still have a little bit of green grass especially near the ponds :)

Funnel webs in winter? I think you're just afraid of getting your knees dirty Dave! LOL :)

Two great shots Brian.

Love the spider among the grass, looks like he's sizing you up!
