View Full Version : my G2 stopped working.

hi,
ive had a g2 for several years without any problems and taken lots of images.

recently on a trip after taking a whole load of pictures, i decided to take a movie which worked okay. (i rarely do this, but i thought i should mention just in case)

*immediately* after that the camera stops working.

moving the dial to the camera icon (with AUTO selected) does NOT extend the lens (it used to) and all i get is a "Pb" code.

looking at the manual it says this means "Replaying image" which i have no idea what means. i hoped by deleting the movie it would resolve it, but it didn't.

connecting the power cable to the camera doesn't seem to recharge the battery. (there is no flashing light, which normally happens).

i also tried removing the battery and the little-battery-for-dates but no affect.

but if i click the dial to play i CAN still look through all my images.

does anybody have any idea what i can do? i sort of want to reset the camera or something.

thanks for your help.

I had a problem which is somewhat different, but may be related on a G-1. Best as I could figure out, one of the images on a CF card was corrupted, and prevented me from opening the files in camera.

If you have another CF card, try swapping them out. Then try looking at the bad one on a PC with a card reader, if available. I was able to recover all my images, except the corrupt one this way.

Good luck
