I have started the design of my own homepage.
I am intresseted in your oppinions what ever it may concern. Loading speed, structure, colors, pictures etc.
It is still in the beginning phase - so changes, adds or new structures are possible.

The navigation bar at the bottom is hardly visible and I think the frames around the thumbs and pictures are too prominent.

Hi Dieter!
I think you should change the background color to something more suitable. maybe white or something else. the problem is also, that it is hard to read the lines at the bottom. maybe change also the color of the visited and active links. I think the menu is ok, but maybe you could combine the menu with the top frame, I think it may be better.

i did some changes. The color thing is true that looks to heavy. I made the framings a little smaler - that looks good to.

Not too bad but it is slightly generic. Depending on how creative you are, I would suggest making some of your own unique graphics for toolbars and headings. Maybe give your main picture a unique border? Here is a good site to go for inspiration:
