August 25 was the date the original Digital Rebel was announced, and I think it was very close to the date that the 20D was announced. Canon knows it is the start of the Christmas buying season, and whatever they announce will hit the shelves by mid-to-late September.

I guess Nikon is not the only one who teases - but you will be able to buy the Canon before Christmas. If Nikon delivers before then it will be a miracle.
