hello,
I seek a software which makes it possible to visualize and zoomer an image. not a total zoom of the image but on a point precis .
for example, if I have a portrait, I will be able zoomer just the eye or the nose, but not all the image, as the zoom in paintbush for example .
thank you for your assistance, and good forum everybody

I think you can do that in Lightroom.

Google's Picasa will let you do it. It's free(of course its not advanced in editing, but good to have for quick viewing). But Lightroom is as well.

well, I have tried picasa, cause it seems impossible to download lightroom (links broken).
and it is not exactlly what I'm searching for. Those are use to impove an image. And what I would like to have is to visualize only with zoomer.
for example, I choose by the mouse what I want to visualize, and it is only this one which increases, not all the image.
Does anyone have another idea please? thank you very much

I've found a software but unfortunately, this is used with the carthography. I give you the link to see how it is.

If anyone know another one with the same option, but on the image ..... please
thanks

Is this what you're after? (See screenshot below.)
This is GIMP, which is an open-source image editing package ... 90% of the capability of PhotoShop for 0% of the price. I don't know PhotoShop but I'd be amazed if that didn't have a similar facility.

oups on your photography, it has seems what I'm searching for. but I've tryed the gimp and the trouble is: instead of having largest "only" the area what you've selected, it's all the car who was zoomer .
do you think a software like that exists? only used to visualize, not to resize or make animation or so one ...?
thank you for your response

You've lost me now.
1. This does exactly what the cartoweb demo (http://www.cartoweb.org/demos/demoCW3.php) does: there is a small window containing the whole picture, and a large window containing a portion of the picture which has been zoomed. If that is not what you want, then you will need to be more precise.
2. Why do you NEED software that ONLY does this?

thank you for your response. not easy to explain in english for me, but I try to do my best. really sorry.
The gimp is made to change or modify image, or the one I need is only used to visualize. You see it's not simple to open many images with Gimp.
I've seen someone use this soft in the train but I couldn't ask him what is this. It has two interface: left: all the images you have and right: the image you've selected.
with gimp, if you select a portion of image, another window appear, not only you have this portion but also all the rest, but it's true you have first the portion selected at first.
with the software I seek, you have only the portion selected in another window, and it appears as you have selected it, square or cercle ... and you can make another zoom with. aftre, you can easely return to the left side of the interface to visualize another image.
so maybe the gimp do the same thing , and it's me who doesn't know how to use it. I've to found a tutoral for that. what I'm sure is that it wasn't the gimp.
I've already ask microsoft and canon helpdesk if they have heard something about it, but ...
so thanks a lot for your help

Magic Zoom does the same thing and costs £29 here:

Worth the money seeing as it is cross-browser, accessible and the code is nicely written. Would take ages to write that!
