Has anyone had any experience with Tamron XR Di (Digital) lenses.

Tamron SP AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di
The world's smallest & lightest fast standard zoom lens

If so, what are your recommedations over the regular XR series.

I did a short review of this lens, can be found here. http://pub103.ezboard.com/fthedigitaldinguscommunityfrm80.showMessage?topicI D=16.topic

I haven't used any other Tamron lenses, so can't really compare it to them.

There is also a review in the November issue of Shutterbug. They test 2 of the lenses.

I have this lens as part of my outfit with a D60. It is SUPERB value for money, believe me. It is light, compact and the images produced are excellent. Slight softness at 2.8 ( common in most lenses at widest aperture ) but stop down to F4 or 5.6 for best results. I have a Canon 17-40 L and a Sigma 70-200 EX HSM lenses also. These are optically excellent too. The Tamron sits proudly alongside these lenses, which in my opinion just shows how highly I rate this glass. Buy one!
