Last winter Canon offered a rebate for both the XT and 20D. In spring of this year it offered rebates for XT and 5D. Any guess as to what bodies will get rebates in the upcoming November-January rebate period?

Amazon.com are anouncing that Canon have cut the price of the XT on their website - 799USD with the kit lens. I have no idea whether that is good as I am in the UK and don't know the normal price of the XT un the USA. I've just checked a UK site and the price has dropped by about 25GBP so that looks like it might be right. There is also a rebate booklet advertised with it. Looks like it's started.

I might be able to get my 350D very soon or I might just wait to see if there is an anouncement before Photokina.

Last time it was the 20D, which was replaced the following spring, and the 350D, their most popular model. I think you can probably count on a rebate for the XT and maybe even on the 5D, as it will be hitting the 18 month mark pretty soon. (Canon product cycles are usually 18 months in duration.)
