Help! Canon S30 Compact Flash Card Problem...?

I have a Canon Powershot S30. I bought a 160MB Sandisk Compact Flash Type II Card. I popped it into the camera, but it says "CF card error" ?

Why is this happening? Does anyone have any idea of why my CF card isnt working? If it's something technical...any way of formatting the card or something to make it work? I don't know what the matter is.

you CAN format a CF card by using the "tools" section of your menu's screen.
you might also want to try ejecting the card and blowing lightly across the contacts as it may be a bit of dust causing your problem.
if all else fails, return the card to the retailer. like any other type of media, CF cards can be corrupted. any retailer worth doing business with should be willing to replace a CF card if it is faulty.
