Well, I got not replies on this thread. Therefore, I guess not many people have tried the Iomega Fotoshow yet. Today I went ahead and got one. It's $200 after a $50 rebate.

I've noticed the following so far:

- Easy to install on my PC running Win98. It connects via USB cable.

- Easy to transfer files from PC to Drive. I edited photos from my G1 using Photoshow. Then, I saved the files to the Fotoshow.

- Easy to setup albums and run slide shows.

+'s:

- Ease of use

- Can be used as a ZIP drive as well

- Can be used to run Powerpoint presentations. Although I haven't tried it myself, this should allow you to create a slideshow of you pictures and movies as well as add background music to it.

-'s:

- The Album/Slideshow program built into the Fotoshow, although easy to use is limited. I can just use Powerpoint if I want to get fancy.

- The remote control is like all remote controls, the buttons will eventually fail. I'm thinking of getting a second remote as a future replacement.

Conclusion:

So far so good though. I haven't tried saving pics directly from my CF card yet. I'll add more to this thread as I discover more.

Hi Novice1,
I just purchased the Fotoshow from staples last week...supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Staples had it for 199.98, but had a $40 coupon for anything over $200, and so I purchased a ream of paper to push the cost over $200 so that I could apply the $40 coupon. With the $50 Iomega mail in rebate, that should put my total cost at around $122 (tax included).
I did post a thread on dpreview about the fotoshow a while back and did get a lot of positive feedback about it. I will be using it for my vacation back home this year, and I think it will serve me well for my intended purpose. Good luck with yours...I'm anxiously awaiting mine!!;-)
