If you've acquired Adobe Elements bundled with a 10D or D-Rebel you can use this as a path to upgrade to Photoshop CS, although for $299 US.

No, any upgrades has to be from a previous version of Photoshop.
However you can get Photoshop CS for a lower cost than the $600 it is being offered. One of the best ways is to take a class and become a student. The student cost for the full version is the same as the upgrade. Just show your student ID at the bookstore and pick it up.

Uh, I know of dozens of people that have already upgraded through that website using the Elements serial numbers that came with a Canon camera.

Looks like it works. Just ordered a copy for $299 + from my Elements 2.0 ... $366 delivered = $488 Cdn beats $1000 or thereabouts cdn.
Beats trying to do it via the Academic discount route.
Thank you, Thank you.........

Thank you for posting this link. I was expecting to shell out quite a chunk of change for CS, and then I found out the CompUSA isn't even going to carry the PC version of Photoshop CS, just the Mac version. They stated the reason for this was that they wanted to sell the Creative Suite for the PC instead of just PS CS. Go figure... I'm starting to really dislike CompUSA. ;p
Just ordered my copy of PS CS moments ago from the link that you posted... much thanks. : )

Your thanks are really unnecessary. I was surprised that this was floating around other sites, but had not yet surfaced here.
Just glad to help, and oh yeah.......put that bundled PSE to good use !!!

It works...
Just upgraded my PSE2 to PS CS for $299US. Showed up this week. Shipped to my office. No, I don't own a 300D or a Microtek scanner just a clean copy of PSE2.
Unfortunately, I just upgraded PS Album to v2. File Broswer in PSCS, while it doesn't have the calender view is just as good. Well, learning at $30US an opportunity....
Thanx for the link....

Thanks for the link, I've been trying to get CS by buying an old version of photoshop then the upgrade, but this seems much cleaner way of getting it at a discount. My PSE2 serial worked fine when ordering it. Now my only question, is it a full or upgrade version? I mean do you have to have elements installed to install CS?

I ordered it today and should arrive to my house on November 18!

To Toddb,
It's the full version. Doesn't require your PSE2 S/N. I installed directly... But I still have PSE2 on my machine.

That's great! I always hate having to keep the old SN and CDs around it my growing pile of software and data. Thanks again al for this great info, I may never had gotten CS if it wasn't for this post.

Why on earth should Adobe limit upgrading CS from Elements to the USA and Canada and not make that upgrade avaiable world wide, or at least to Europe and Australasia?
Do not understand this logic or has anyone tried this upgrade route outside North America?

Does anyone have any new info on the subject of getting a student upgrade to CS from Elements? They're not "L" poor, but poor just the same!
Thanks.

Well, if you are a student, you don't even need to upgrade from Elements to CS. For the same cost, just go buy CS from anyplace (your university/college bookstore) that sells the education edition.

Well, it's not the same cost!
PSCS student price = $289
Elements $50
CS Upgrade $170
Total = $220 if an Elements upgrade is possible.

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can simply get the CS upgrade from elements. As I understood it, there was a special deal where, if you owned elements, you could buy full version CS for $299. It wasn't the photoshop upgrade, but a package allowing you to upgrade or step up from elements to CS.

Thats probably the info I saw, but forgot. Thanks.
