Which one? G5 or S50???

I'd like some help choosing a camera.
I'm between S50 and G5, any tip?

Ofcourse you'll have to decide yourself which of the two suits you better. Some differences that are most noticeable to me are:

- The G5 has 4x optical zoom, the S50 has 3x optical zoom.

- The G5 has a very nice LCD screen which can be twisted and turned around; the S50 has a fixed LCD.

- The G5 has a hotshoe for connecting a Canon Speedlite flash, the S50 doesn't.

- The G5 is just a little too big to fit in your pocket; the S50 is just small enough to fit in your pocket.

Thank you very much, after a lot of thinking, i'm gonna purchase a (Surprise) G3, cos G5 has received a lot of bad reviews....

Is that general opinion, that the G3 is better than the G5?

I recently upgraded from my G2 to a G5...should I have just gone to the G3?

I have no idea .. because I have to live with my G2.

But the G2 had a lot of detractors, and whatever that was all about is long forgotten (IMHO). So too, the concerns over the G5 may be a bit "soft " too.

I looked over and held the G5, It seemed to be a bit more compact than the G3. It looked beautiful to me, and a bit more portable than the G2. A beautiful camera.

But.. the G6 should be out soon too! And then .. in a few years I expect cameras to go 16:9 format and record on mini-DVD's !

The G3 and G5 are the same camera save the body color and the megapixel count. Either should serve you fine. I doubt the G3 is better than the G5. G5's main detraction is some purple fringing. I have a G3.
