Any way to Preset the File Number?

I upgraded my Firmware on my 10D, and now my numbers have started back at 0001!!!!! Is there any way to set it back to where it was???? I was using my numbering to keep track of where I was, and now I have duplicates!!! .

I think the Firmware Upgrade reset all my functions back to factory, and I missed resetting "File Numbering" from "Auto Reset" to "Continuous"... or at least that's all I can figure.

Insert an old card, other than the one you used to install the firmware. And format the card you used to install the firmware on your computer, not in the camera.
