I'm running Windows 98, and just bought a Canon A60. Everything else on my system works fine (i.e., games, Paint Shop Pro, sound, etc.)
I installed the software, including the correct TWAIN drivers.
I re-boot.
I plug in the USB cable, turn on the camera.
My computer recognizes that I have a Canon Digital Camera.
The "Add New Hardware Wizard" comes up. So far so good.
When I click next, I enter Driver Hell.
When I search for the best drivers, and specify the location:
i.e, c:\whatever\Camera TWAIN 60
I'm told that it can't find any drivers.
Yet there are six drivers there, named:
Canon.IncCAP001
Canon.IncCAP002
Canon.IncCAP003
Canon.IncCAP004
Canon.IncCAP006
Canon.IncCAP007
Likewise, when I choose the location, I don't get anything in the Camera List.
After uninstalling the drivers, re-installing and even downloading the "new" drivers from Canon, I still get nothing.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
