i don't have any info on this but this is very exciting. the FL of this lens is very appealing and will fit nicely between my 17-40 and my 100-400. i guess i will wait with my 24-70L a bit longer and see how this lens fares up...

Haven't heard of it so far, but it is actually a 50-150 DC F/2.8 lens (DC stands for reduced image circle, so it'll only fit on 1.6x crop cameras)
Still ... quite interesting. According to the specs quite compact.
Best regards,
Andy

Please don't post the same thread in multiple forums.
Since this one now has replies this will be moved to the rumor forum and the one in rumor forum with no replies have already been deleted.

ok i am sorry tommykjensen :)
with the 1,6 crop it makes something like 80-240. That's quite intresting for zoo and around the house animal photography.
Looks like the lens produces takes crop cams more and more serious, to get "old" reach lensen on crop cams

A webshop in Finland (that carries quite a nice selection of lenses for the common camera brands) is already taking orders for this. They are usually really quick to do this, with no real promises of delivery times (I must have waited 3-4 months for my Sigma 70-200 Macro), but I can't believe that they would be taking orders for this lens just based on a rumor. I'm sure it is "for real".
Also, since the price is binding once you place the order, it should be quite close to the actual price once it is available... As you can see from the link below (even though it is in Finnish), they currently ask about 600€ for it.

How much is this lens supposed to go for?

No idea, but I would put it into the 450-550$ range ... cheaper than the 70-200/2.8, and a bit more expensive than the 18-50/2.8 and 24-70/2.8 lenses.
Best regards,
Andy
