Interesting place to shoot. Probably the prettiest track and most "detailed" facility you'll ever see. But, like Utah, (same track designer) I found the stadium type layout awkward. At times there can be as many as three (maybe four) sections of track running opposite directions in front of you. Hence, background issues become problematic. It seems to contradict the beauty of the place... but that's how I saw it. There are some terrific features to the landscaping and surrounding perimeters of the track... including huge sculptures of insects... but they are near impossible to gracefully include into your shots. And.. anything wide enough to embrace the scope and beauty of the facility requires you reduce the car to miniscule portion of the frame.

But, I liked it and I'd like to shoot there again. After the fact and viewing what I shot, there are some other things I'd like to try. But... here are a few samples of the weekend.

Very nice. I was there both Saturday and Sunday. I posted the wreck that happened in turn one of lap one. Thanks for sharing. I have some from Saturday I'll try to get up here.

Very nice pictures. I'm just getting into photography, but I can't imagine it getting any better than this.

Nice work JT. There are some interesting things around this track that is for certain. I am glad you enjoyed shooting here. Maybe next time you are at Baber I will have the opportunity to meet you.

John, the through-the-trees shot are great - nice captures. Something a little out of the norm is always welcome. As to the low responses here on POTN.... not sure what to say other then if there were shot in the UK... you would have tons of at-a boys... not that you need them. This seems to be a UK centric motorsports group here. As you noticed... that other forum is a lot more US racing friendly.

The track looks interesting. I was thinking of heading down but Utah took all my desire to spend a couple of days out in the heat out of me. I will do Atlanta and VIR this year... and maybe California... but that is it for me.

Nice stuff... consider this a comment for both forums. The additional images on the other site are very additions. Cheers.

Great use of different POV to make these shots seem very original. Nice work.

I love em all but for some reason I'm really liking the two shot through the trees.

Thanks... I tried to add a little variety between what was posted here, on Fred Miranda and automotivephoto.net -

It is an interesting track... but in retrospect, even though Utah had its own oddities, man that light was something else. Oh and so was the heat. :)
