Hi,

Tonight I'm shooting pictures at a Jr. Miss show...kinda like a Ms. America for teens. (Shooting for fun, not money :)

I'm using my 70-200IS for the first time with my 10D.

Which metering mode should I use? (Brightly lit stage...spotlights...etc.)

Any other advice?

Thanks,

Rob

I would shoot partial meter and bracket. Or partial meter and use exposure compensation based on the lighting. Look at the histogram after each series of shots and adjust the following shots with exp comp as necessary.
I think white balance is almost as important in dim indoor conditions as exposure. I haven't done a lot of testing, but I think the auto white balance does very poorly in dim indoor stage type environments. So shoot custom white balance.
