EOS-1D Pricing

I have seen the pricing of the EOS1D all over the place. From $5000 to $6500. I understand wholesale is around $4500 so there seems to be some room there. Who has the best price?

That is a loaded question. I have seen prices down around $1500 for one but it is an "import" model. Not quite sure what that means other than I would not be able to get the microdrive and additional battery if I had bought one. For that matter, I still do not have the microdrive and additional battery ;)
Then there is always the additional shipping and handling costs to consider and the dealer rep. If someone ships you a defective camera who is responsible for the cost of shipping it back or shipping it to Canon to get it fixed? Can you be sure that the dealer did not know it was defective and is trying to get rid of it?
And finally, consider the return policy. It would have cost me nearly $500 to return my D30 (not that I would have but it was something I looked into just in case) with the restocking and shipping fees.
