My sister is getting married next year, and has put a budget aside of £1500 ($2850 ish) for a photographer.
What should she expect to get for this price in terms of prints/cds etc etc?
I would imagine she should be able to get a pretty good deal for this sort of money?
Any advice appreciated:D

To be honest, it all depends on the photographer and how they do things. In a small town like mine, $2850 gets a nice package. I'm sure in a large metro area, it may not get much of anything.
She has to go around to all photogs in the area, look at their work, what they offer and then make a decision (and hope they are available the day she needs! ;) ).

She should get a very good deal for £1,500 . It pays to shop around though and you may not go with the most expensive , check out their portfolios and go with the photog that gives you a sense of confidence that they can do the job, also ask to see a complete set of wedding pictures from start to finish, not just a selected few best shots from a load of weddings
My 2 cents anyway
Goodluck
cheers

I think it will give her freedom to choose ........ she's unlikely to find many outside of her budget. Agree with the advice above, ignore the price and find the right person with the right portfolio.

The area she lives in also has a bearing. £1500 in London will probably get her a basic package. In northern scotland it would probably get her the top deal.
Demographics apply to wedding photogs, too.

She has to do the legwork and investigate photographers in the area. I live in Scotland (Lanarkshire). Top end photographers are between £1,500-£2,500. Budget photographers £500 - £800.
If she looks at their portfolios and asks for some references then she'll get an idea what to expect.
If you are lucky someone here may be able to help.
Good luck.

Looking only at the images on the web there's bound to be better than this for £1500! Lots of very good images but nothing outstanding. just my opinion.
