A pair of Nazca boobies.

The birds were really squabbling, but I thought it looked like
the bird in the middle is having second thoughts about this
whole "flight" thing. "You mean, I just jump off this
cliff?!??" The bird on the right is "You go first..."

As a humorous aside, I've been putting my Galapagos
vacation pictures on pbase. I've sorted them into
sea lions, reptiles, etc, and the birds into small birds,
medium birds, large birds, and boobies.

So, in the new galleries listing - or to someone
desperately searching the pbase galleries, this gallery
of blue foots, red foots, and Nazca birds show up
as "Boobies".

I've got a dozen or so hits on my other galleries and
over 200 on 'Boobies'. Funny, hardly any of them look
at the birds...

Nice shot Julie. These birds remind me a bit of immature gannets which ar, of course, in the same family (Sulidae).

Great stuff - loved these funny little characters ever since watchting 'Ray Mears' showing how catch one to eat [he is a survivalist] - and tells a story along the lines of the wire noose with a morcel of fish as bait for the Boobie. Waiting nearby and snatching it as it stood in the noose eating the bait.
It is where we get the phrase 'Boobie Trap' from.

Nice shot.
