Hi all
Here are two shots of a Common Guillemot. This variant has a white ring around the eyes and down the "scar" and some find this variant more beautiful than the one I posted last time (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=195328). These shot were also taken in Papey. Please feel free to comment (C&C). :-)

Exceptionally good quality shots Sindri.
This variant is indeed a favourite one. The colour, detail and sharpness is top-notch. Perfect!

Fantastic shots once again Sindri. These birds are very common on the coast of Scotland where I grew up, usually nesting alongside razorbill and kittiwake. Last time I visited I was pleased to see that raven and peregrine had also returned to the cliffs:D

It's hard to tell which I prefer! This one's markings is quite striking, but I also like the "scar" on the other variant(which is not quite as distinguishable here). Very nice shots Sindri.

His future's so bright, he has to wear shades. :)
Thanks for posting these excellent photos. I like the interplay of the bird and its surroundings.

These are wonderful shots. The first shot looks as if he is wearing some sort of sun shades. (Same as Tupe's observation). The exposure and detail are up to your usual HIGH standards..Very nicely done Sindri!!!

very nice sindri, i live fifteen minutes drive from some cliffs with a couple of hundred guillemots, ive yet to see a brindled one there, if i drive for one hour i can be at one really big colony (Fowlsheugh )here you can see the odd one among the thousands of birds on the ledges, i see you also have the black guillemot, thats one i have yet to see

Sindri,
Excellent shots. I like them both. Great contrast on the heads, even with the
dark colors.

What nice shots.....the head and neck have feathers that are so finely textured that they almost have a plastic like appearance.....a very attractive bird.
