Ok on a grade scale 1st through 12th grade I would put myself some place in the 2 or 3rd grade.

I am looking at buying a 300D body and the following lens

Canon 28-135mm IS
Canon 75-300mm IS usm

I mainly will be shooting my girls soccer games both indoor and outdoor. Family shots around the house and some actions shots like motorcycle riding and auto racing.

I have been told to go with the IS to help with stabilizing the shot but have also read that the sigma lens is a better choice. Any and all input would be great; I am trying to keep in a 2k budget.

Thanks so much

TC

personally, if your not shooting pro shots, i would go sigma. my sigma's work fine. i have no problems with them. my canon's focus a wee bit faster, and i can barely tell the quality difference.

just my 2 cents.
