Super shots Tim. Best prop blur I've seen, except on my own stuff.:) My favorite is your second one. Thanks for sharing.

The blur and lighting in the second shot is super. Great pic!

Well you could at least give us a shutter speed. ;)
I presume the engines were at idle for both shots?
Fantastic stuff!

1/40 on the first, 1/60 on the second shot. Engine at idle on the first, powered up to taxi out in the second shot.

Thanks for the info. I would imagine an IS lens would improve your keeper ratio quite a bit for stuff like this.

Hi all.

I love those shots.
It's even harder when you try it like this one.

That's a nice shot. It is 1/125th though. Doable with practice. When you slow down like this though, unless the plane is perfectly parallel with your sensor, you will get some motion blur.

I envy you guys! You have the weather, the light and the planes to boot!
Usually; the option to catch a P-51 around here is slight... but thanks to Mr. Allen's collection it's becoming more attainable.
I tried last weekend to get some shots; but the weather was such they couldn't fly
I tried to stay at about 125th, but the light was low and I had a bit too much coffee for the 100-400...
...but the ability to be right with the aircraft and the smell of Avgas made it all worth the while.
Looking forward to next June when they resume flights :)
Thanks for sharing and keep up the great stuff!

2nd pic is special.
Background clutter is always a nuisance , but I like the 2 background propellers visible through the blurred prop.
