I recently entered a contest for landscape photography and wanted to see what was going on at the Canon website. I sometimes forget that Canon is a Japanese company because so many of the forums are based in Europe and the US. When I saw all the judges for a recent (July 30) contest, it really occurred to me that I am a world apart from the people who make the gear I love so much. Does anyone here at POTN work for Canon and why not?

Not me. Why not? It seems that they do not need any X-Ray Technicians.

It's from the EOS Magazine website link. I think if you link onto the magazine, they will have it, and I think it was just a landscape taken at any "US National Park Only". Also, if you go on the Canon website, you will see a contest that I didn't know about, but they run every year that these amazingly promiment Japanese photographers judge. It's a huge contest with many submissions. That was the article that set off me to start this thread. From what I can see, that world of Canon is a world away from me. Those people are pros. I'm just playing around in the sand.

Edit: Here it is http://www.nationalparks.org/contest/prizes/index.html
