Help!
My very best friend just told me that her mom didn't get a photographer for her wedding. The wedding is this weekend and she wants me to bring my camera and gear!
I need some tips and advice quick! What gear should I bring (I have a rebel xt)? What lense should I use? What filters or flashes or whatever will work best? The wedding is indoors and small. I'm guessing it won't be well-lit and I'm relatively low-tech.
Anything I need to know?

What gear do you have? It'll be easier to answer your question if you state what you have...

I have a canon Rebel XT, a 70-300 lens, some random filters... that's pretty much it. Mostly I just want to take pictures that aren't awful. Since I'm not officially the photographer, I don't know how many posed shots we'll be doing!

Also I should say that I'm not opposed to a shopping trip!

It didn't seem to work for me. Something about a file not being found.

You'll definately need a new lens, (or do you have the 18-55 kit?) The 70-300 isn't wide enough for group shots, and is good for candids
you'll need a flash, if you're planning on doing this more often, I'd go for the 580EX, it's the best Canon flash
Extra batteries (for camera and flash)
Memory around 6-8GB should do

I do actually have the kit lens and enough memory. From reading other posts, am I right to say something like a 50 f/1.8 would be better than the ones I have?

yes, that would be a good lens to have, the 50 1.4 would be better but also much more expensive. it good to have a faster lens for inside shots
