Indoor flash shots with A80 look over exposed

All my indoor photographs using the flash on my camera causes the skin tones to be whitened. Is there a way to cut back on the power of the flash so that my pictures does not look so washed out.

There's a couple of things you could try.

1. Use Av mode and set the aperture to f8. This will both darken the picture and make it sharper.

2. Use manual mode - turn down the flash power and set 1/60 - 1/500 sec and experiment with the f value.
