I made my first visit to a Hill Climb event yesterday, at Harewood Hill near Leeds. Not the usual POTN invasion like we see at Croft but i did bump into Simon Harrison who pointed me to this event in the first place :)

Anyway, onto the cars...

Exiting "Farmhouse", Claude Spencer in his gorgeous sounding MGB V8

The obligatory MK2 Escort. It's listed as an 1800CC but i have no idea if it's an RS or not. Driven by the very appropriately named Paul Nutter

A very nice MK1 Excort RS Mexico.

As expected, there were plenty of Lotus 7 type things on show..

As usual, the sidecars were good fun, although this crew ended up in the barriers with a thud.

Lancia Integrale..wooohooo

The Batmobile? Ok, it's actually an OMS SC3...apparently :)

Finally, a Radical SR3. Rather rapid it was too :)

There's more in the gallery (link in sig). Thanks for looking and all comments are welcome as long as they're nice

Nicely done Geoff. Harewood offers some nice angles, and even just working round the outside of Farmhouse can yield some very different results.

Did you manage to get as sunburned as me??

Cheers,

Simon.

Cheers Simon :)

It's nice to have the freedom to wander pretty much anywhere for once. I suspect i'll be back there before too long. However, that hill is not much fun on a warm day !
Sunburn? I seem to be developing some sort of immunity although i'm not sure that's a good thing

I don't mind at all :)

I did spot someone waving a 300 2.8L around when i was near Farmhouse before the lunch break, was that yourself?

Probably, I was up at the top side of Farmhouse with a workmate who was waving his Canon XL2 about.

Love the footwear on the MG and the "eyes" on the sidecar.

Maybe more POTN'ers than at first thought. Only saw one guy with a 300mm f2.8 all day and he had it attached to a 20D (I think) on what looked like a gimble head on a monopod.

I must remember to put my POTN strap back on my camera..

Cheers,

Simon.

I had my POTN jacket in the car, I should have really put that on. i saw one other 300f2.8 but he was an offical photog for the event and was allowed into some restricted areas, he had a very good view of the hill upto the farmhouse and into the farm yard. I tried to bribe a track marshall to let me get to the spot but he wasnt having any.

Nice shots Geoff and great sequence on your site of the sidecar crash, I'm pretty sure I've seen that paintjob at Croft a couple of times.

Cheers
