Very similar situation as others on here as I have noticed. I have never shot a wedding before and I am not sure if what I have will even be adequate. So any advice will be warmly welcomed. First off, I will not be getting paid (which I wouldn't accept anyway). This is kind of a "either I can do it, or someone with a P&S camera can do it" type thing. There are no expectations and the B&G are fully aware I am new to this. Despite that I have asked that they proceed with someone else to shoot as well (even if it's with a P&S) just because I'd hate to disappoint (even if there are no expectations) Now on to the questions:
I have a concern with shooting outside using a flash and not blowing out the whites on the wedding dress. I will be using the 430 flash. (which is on it's way so again new to that as well) Any tips on how to shoot this type shot effectively?
Also will my currecnt gear be sufficient to get the job done. not the best of course, but should it work? I was thinking of taking the 50mm 1.8, 28-135mm, and the 70-200 F/4 along with the flash.
I have searched and picked up some basic tips from here. Anything else anyone would care to add?
My first step will be to pick up a book or two on wedding photography. But I figured I'd tap the wealth of knowledge that exists here first. (Wedding in the end of this month)
Thank in advance for any input.
