So, I was asked to shoot a wedding this past Saturday. They were not going to have a photographer anyways so that is the reason I agreed to do it. Since I'm inexperienced, I didn't want to make profit so I only charged for gas and batteries ($50). I definitely made sure before I agreed that they knew I was inexperienced and that I could not guarantee anything. Anyway, it was a good experience overall and I hope they are satisfied with the pictures. Feel free to comment and critique.
Pre-ceremony pics and reception pics were taken with 50mm/1.4. Ceremony pics were taken with 70-200mm/2.8.

I think they got the bargain of the century. Your color and exposure is spot on, and framing an composition is nice as well.
#2 is the only one that doesn't work for me - just enough camera shake to be a bit distracting.
#3 would be even more effective as a B&W IMHO...

This is fabulous for a first wedding!! Like Jamie said, the #2 shot is a little soft, and #10 seems to be much like a snapshot. Other than that, you are well on your way if this is something you are looking to get into. There are many main photogs looking for assistants and 2nd's, and you definitely have potential to succeed. Good Luck.

these are great for a first wedding...
now the question is (at least from me), did you have fun taking pictures and is wedding photography something that you are going to pursue?
Great job!
Thanks,
Michael

4 7 and 8 Rock. You did excellent first time out. I assisted a wedding someone hired me to do, but I gave the job over to a friend who is very good wedding photographer. Not easy work. They received a very beautiful wedding gift from you. So...you ready to do more?

nice pics. I don't know why people choose to get married in these god awful ugly churches. Every time I see wedding shots posted that are taken inside a church it just looks horrible, I mean why bother... are these people afraid that it will anger thier god if they choose a nicer location? It's not like he's helping thier situation any, what with 50% of all marriages ending in divorce.

I'd say they got their money's worth many times over. These look terrific. If you can deal with the stress and the people you've found yourself a good profession....
And I've GOT to get me one of those 50mm f1.4s. That's nice stuff.

Well, I think it's the church they usually attend. I'm sure they'd rather get married in a familiar church.
All pictures except the ones taken inside the church are with 50mm and with flash. I did not use flash inside the church.
I'm not sure I'd want to get into wedding photography. Maybe when I get better. You sure these shots are worth thousands? hehe

I think you have a good eye and made the best in a massive event by yourself...props to you girl...I assisted and freaked out! Yes, get better equipment and learn learn learn...and more important have a hunger to do wedding photography. On the other issue. I was very religious at one point in my life and just loved being inside a Catholic church. I have to agree with the previous poster though...It is typically a horror to try to get decent shots in most churches. I mentioned in another thread about how I wish Architects would design more responsibly for all actual users of their masterpieces. It would be in their best interest..think how their creation would shine if they just threw a bone to us photogs with the lights, BG's etc. Sorry rambled off the path there. Just look at the first 4 lines!
