Another cracking set of shot's Simon. After seeing what excellent crisp shots you are getting with your 300mm F4 I think I will stop saving for a 300 2.8 and buy one myself...... But it still doesn't mean my shots will be as good as yours (doh)

Armed with a couple of machine guns though......65 shots of one car, and it only made 5 runs up the hill all day  .

A certain 5 litre V8 turbo charged Audi TT lookalike driven by a local farmer tempted me down. Unfortunately, he can't keep driveshafts in the thing at the moment so he made only one timed run, and that was with the boost turned right down to ensure it made it up the hill. Looked and sounded the part though.

Cheers,

Simon.

Thanks Edge. The 300mm f4 L IS certainly is a very good lens......but Canon's f2.8 version is in a different league and is certainly something to aspire to.

Cheers,

Simon.

Thanks. The G4 is simply stunning. A very simple uncluttered shape that looks gorgeous.

Simon.

I reckon your 300 F4L is pretty much ideal for battling up & down that hill Simon. I had the 120-300 on the camera all day and it was damn hard work :o

I forgot to let you have a play with the Sigma too, feel free to remind me next time :)

Amazing detail in those shots, particularly #1 with the front suspension showing so clearly, lovely stuff indeed.

Your shots are great, but the cars are just adorable! I've never seen so many cars I'd love to play with. Thanks for posting. Nice captures, very sharp. Can tell the cars were going fast, the wheels are smooth.

Thanks Geoff. That's the problem with hillclimbs - there's always a hill to climb  :p , and it seems to get steeper as the day goes on.

I'll take you up on the offer to try out your Sigma. Bring the TC's with you, as I want to see how it stands up with those fitted as well.

Cheers,

Simon.
