I mentioned to a friend I would like to upgrade my camera. He asked to buy mine.
What's a fair price:
Rebel XT and Kit lens- Purchased Last August -12K pics taken
Brand New Canon Bag (never used)
Sigma 70-300 APO (with hood)
Hoya 72 Infrared Filter
Sunpak ND Filter
Promaster Cir Polarizer
Promaster UV Filter
Extra Battery
512MB CF Card
2 - Rubber Lens Hoods
(all original packaging and software)
All of this cost me about 1600

Don't know what would be good. Just wanted to say, keep the Sigma lens unless you have others or are buying a replacement with the new camera.

thanks Eagle. I really have no use for the Sigma. I used it for a few months till I got my 100-400 and have never used it again.

I'd expect maybe 67-80% new price back on the 2nd hand goods. Maybe $1200. But I honestly don't know how well cameras drop in price in USA. Maybe 1100/1200?

I think $1200 would be fair, especially since it's a friend.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just have no idea how cameras hold their value. I was going to ask 900. So I must be in a fair ballpark.

I would say $800 to $1000 as that is what I can buy this set up for used. $900 is a fair price though.
