I've always been fascinated by the shots of moving cars by night (with long exposures). Now that I finally have a cam myself, I went outside a few hours ago to try one myself. What do you think?
I cant quite make up my mind of the lightpole should be there or not. Some of me hate it, while another part of me want to leave it alone.
Obviously it needs to be there to give the scene light, but I guess it could be brushed away in PS later. But that would give the scene such a fake look, as it's obviously visible that it is a spotlight there..

In my opinion there is too much black space. I dont think it does anything for the photo.
But this is nice and i like what you are doing. Keep at it.

There where some distant ligts in the background, from houses on the other side of the "fjord". But I Didn't think they added anything, so I removed them (along with a sign in the lower-left corner). I think But I can try to reshoot it a night with bright moon-light. That way I could get moon-light reflections in the water where it's now totally black. But it was to cloudy this day to see any reflections there :/
Guess the picture also gives more "meaning" to us living near this place. This turn have had quite some causalties in few years, mostly because of speeding. I think (at least that's what I tried :-P) the slow shutter gives an effect of the speed cars drive at down there.
Anyway, thanks for the comment. I'll try to take more of theese shots and improve what you commented.

The effect of the light trails is facinating. Also that you don't see the cars. Hope it's not rude to post one of my own efforts. It's of the pub in my village - cars almost visible as ghosts. Car turning right (into the pub car park) had indicator flashing. Could be titled "Win some, lose some".
