how do you make the workers fully dark?
what do you do there?

Adjust the levels so they come out really dark. It has a nice feel to it, it'd definitely sell as stock too.

FWIW stock photography has it's place, it takes a certain eye to take something that'll be marketable to companies and graphic designers just as much as it does to take a really artsy picture. Stock typically has to be technically perfect as well.

I think this image sits nicely in the middle between art and stock. Well done.

Thank you for the comments. I had the foreground totally black and thought it was too stark and in your face. I thought lightening it a little made it easier to look at. Darker it IS more dramatic.
