My tower went down not long after this event and I just now got a replacement and got my photos back so I thought I would post a few. The 70-300 was straining on some of these but as always c&c is welcome.

Damn them crazy Americans will drift anything :)

Some great shots considering the 70 - 300 isn't the best or quickest focusing lens.

How not? Front engine, rear drive, gobs of torque. It's got a V8 so no need to hang a turbo off of it like the dinky 4 cylinders.

What impresses me the most is what seems to be a 240sx with the front end of a late 70's firebird.

Shots look good. Maybe a bit too much saturation but it seems to work in these. Good job :)

haha i didnt even notice the firebird wasnt a firebird. oh... and the mustang has a big intercooler.. so it is force fed

Ya i had to take a good look at it. I noticed the rear looked different at first glance but i thought it was just the angle.

The falken mustang has an amazing driver. I remember hearing about him on SpeedTV. Theres also a clip on the net somewhere of that mustang tearing up the track against the SRT10 Viper. Nick Hogan also just got sponsered and got a full ride, happens to be a new SRT10 Competition. Then he smashed it into a wall. There was a thread about it over on the Supraforums.

Only if they don't know how to set it up ;) Can't forget that Americans have been drifting for a looooong time. Japanese just found a way for it to appeal to the impressionable tuner market.

yes certainly if its stock, but most production cars will, these aren't quite stock, drift spring rates are nearly 700-800 lbs for a light vehicle, my car is street tuned with 280 lbs spring rates.. and with large tubular anti sway bars, that helps even more

i see it really held its own out there.

BGT, there is a 50 on the USM and a slight contrast adjustment. Other then that this is how they came out of the camera. For the money it is not a bad lens to have in the bag.

And thanks for the comments

nice shots, they look heavily saturated though. i have a hard time believing they came out of the camera like that!

Falken Mustang's driver is Vaughn Gittin Jr. He is having a car built at a shop by my house for his daily driver (Mid-Atlantic Motorsports). They built my boy's Nissan Frontier drift-truck.... It'll be baaaaaad when its all done!
