Hello all... once again here I am master of newbie questions.
I have doen IR photos on the G1, and it was pretty simple because teh CCD was always seeing the image, but with the D30 the only way to see through the lens is through the viewfinder, so my question is... since you can't see through the IR filter with naked eye, how are you guys compositing your shots and focusing? Are you using a tripod and setting up your shots without the IR filter on and then placing the filter on for the shot and adjusting all the settings to compensate for the darkness?
I have the Tiffen 87c so any suggestions would be most helpful. I know I could use the Fred Miranda plugin (it looks good) but it won't be the same. For example I suspect it alters blues and greens. But if a blue car was parked in the scene it would needless alter it. or if a woman is wearing black synthetic clothing it would remain black instead of turning white like a real IR photo.
Thoughts? Tips? suggestions?
James
