I was perched on a rock in the water for over an hour snapping away, trying this ND grad then another.
With midges and some cloud cover it was just great fun.
Anyway the sun broke through before it set and I got this one.
Not brill but ok.

 I'd rather watch paint dry than spend quality time with those peskey little things
Enough of my daily Midge rant  Nice shot Paul, love the soft night colours :)
Still think your weird though :p Joking ;)

What's a midge? (only "midge" I'm familiar with is a Ure one. :-D)
Oh yeah, beauty of a location and a very nice photo to showcase it.

Thanks for comments and Scott I've just ordered an ND4 for my X-pro Cokin system which I hope to use with my ND grads to get some smoother water. Will post results if ok.
I've been away from the forum for a while but its nice to be back.
All the best Paul

Not being the one battling with the midges, it's easy for me to say 'Well worth the wait' Paul but, really, it's a great shot. Very peaceful and I love the sun's reflection. Beautiful.

I like how you captured the ripple of the water and the reflection on top of it, nicely done

real nice shot good colours.
it would have looked great if you had used a slow shutter speed ,and turned that sea in to a nice milky blur

Thanks for your comments and Mark I was on the slowest shutter speed and because of that I just bought another ND filter to slow things down even more. Will see how it works out.
All the best

I think the shutter speed is just right - a bit of motion blur but retaining detail. Good composition, gorgeous colours and textures in the rocks and no burnt out highlights. Well done! :)

Very idyllic. Looks a tad red though. Unless that was how vivid the sun was. :D
