Remote Capture A70 MS Win XP Locking Up

I have an application for doing photo ID's. I am using laptops with MS Windows XP. I use Remote Capture to take the photos. In a session with 100 shots, the camera locks up four or five times requiring that remote capture be shut down and often that the camera be turned off and back on. I have the most recent drivers the 2.7.3 version of Remote Capture. Both USB 2.0 and 1.1. SP1 has been applied. The camera's are powered by an adapter. The power adapter and the USB cable have fileters ( chokes ).

Anyone have any ideas?

I dropped my camera (s230) a while ago and ever since the LCD just goes black and then starts working occasionally. now its not working again,
do you know what the problem is? do you think Canon will still know i dropped or can i tell them it came like that??
