I love the glowing rotor on the front of the vette in the last shot. Excellent photos.

Thanks. We will also be shooting the ALMS race at Laguna Seca in October which runs into the night, so there will be many glowing rotors! ;) I have never shot a night race before so I am looking forward to the challenge. At the Portland race I was able to try some things with the flash that I will take to Laguna.

I love that diesel Audi. It is so, so quiet!!!

Excuse me, sir. Do I know you?

Beautiful work, Jim. But then, what did I expect?

Do you know yet where you'll be shooting at Laguana Seca?

I think we met once....

Actually in person (yet) we haven't! Thanks for the comment.

Where will we be shooting at Laguna?

Everywhere... ;)

What gear did you use for these pictures? You don't have to specify by picture. I'm just curious about the camera and caliber of lens you take down to the track. Great pictures.

Thanks,
ian

very nicely done, Jim. The bearmer kerb bouncing (#5) is my favourite from this set although the glowing brake discs in the final shot are a nice touch!

Thanks all...The photos are either with a 1DMKII and a 300L f/2.8 or a 30D with the 100-400L.

Cadwell: The bimmer shots my wife took. She also shot the Porsche shot. She hit some of her best shots to date at this event.

Beautiful work Jim. Those ALMS are just so darn photogenic I might be able to get a decent shot. :-)
