I'm looking to get the wife a picture printed on canvas and stretched for Christmas this year. I would like to have the portrait look like a painting and sent off to a lab to have printed on some sort of canvas. Can anyone recommend a good Photoshop plug-in/tool (I have Photoshop 7) that does the photo to painting and a lab that will do the prints? I’ve found a few labs that will do the prints but would like something someone has used and can recommend.
On another note has anyone messed with any Mosaic programs? I’m looking to feed the thing say 500 pictures and have it meld into one final picture of my son. (I think its called mosaic…)
Thanks for looking

There are services (think I've seen them in the back of a photo mags) that will take your image electronically and put it to canvas. You shouldn't have to touch it in PS
On the second Item, are you looking to morph? For example go from an infant shot to a grown up shot? If that is the case there is plug-ins or software that will do that like Morphman or Winmorph. Never used any but would love to hear how it works.

The services I've found will print the image on canvas but it still looks like an photo on canvas.... I would like to make it look like a painting first then have it put on canvas.
As for the other question, I want a large picture made up of a bunch of smaller pictures.... Its on the tip of my tongue what its called. Say take 500 small thumbnail pictures of your kid... and have them put together to look like a large picture of your kid. Im not sure how else to explain it but I see posters in the mall like that all the time.
Thanks

There are several software apps that can do a "Photo Mosaic"
it is basically a photo built up from squares or other geometric
shapes that each contain an individual photo. If you do a search
on Google for "Photo Mosaic" you will find a number of choices.
Good luck

For the Photo montage, try MGI Photosuite, I think it's just what you're looking for.

Can anyone recommend a printer who will print your photo on canvas? Any personal experiences with a service like the one James01 originally asked about?
Thanks

Check out HP. They have canvas paper. We have some around here somewhere. I never have used it, but it is supposed to be real canvas.

You might also want to take a look at Burlingon's offerings.
They have both a Photo Silk Fabric, also able to be used for mouse pads, etc. as well as the Canvas.
I have used both with satisfactory results. Both claim to be for "All Inkjet Printers". They come in 8-1/2x11 sheets.

Canvas is Product 00484
Photo Silk is Product 00482
