Hi everyone, I stumbled upon this site thru Google whilst frantically looking for a solution to a problem with my relatively new camera.
I have an Ixus 750 which is about 8 months old. At some stage last night, the 2.5" LCD display got cracked :( I dont know how, as it was in the official Canon leather case and it was only in my pocket, I'm positive I didnt fall on on it or anything like that. It's like a stress fracture, there is no damage to the exterior of the camera and the backlight is still working.
Do I have any chance of claiming a replacement camera/screen under the warranty or my home insurance?? If not, what is the cheapest and easiest way to fix it?

If any of you guys have experienced something like this, please let me know. Thanks very much in advance!!

Home insurance, maybe. Warranty - probably not unless you make a very big fuss and there's absolutely zero evidence that it was abused. The case is more for scratch protection than impact resistance.

Thanks for the reply!! :)
I did some research on the net and found someone else with the same damaged screen...

http://poodlebra.wordpress.com/2006/07/27/ixus-750-lcd-screen-replacement/

This person claims he found somewhere that sold him a replacement screen for £20 inc vat and delivery!!

This site was also useful...

Have asked for a quote for a repair from a couple of these and will wait and see what happens.

Just thought i'd post this up incase anyone else every has the same problem, which inevitably they will.
