im having problems using my powershot a620 shooting moving objects. for ease i usually use AUTO mode, but most moving objects turn out blurred. cars, bikes, trains etc etc all cause problems, heres a shot i took today

the main subject is again blurred. So can anyone suggest what settings i should be using to get quick.in focus and acceptable results from the camera. the annoying thing is i never had this problem with my powershot a40.
Any help would be very much appreciated as its pretty frustrating as im sure this camera can handle a moving object wth ease, but its just knowing how to set it up!!!!! :o

The EXIF information's been stripped from that. What settings did the camera use? Tried using the A620's Sports mode? Or Tv with a fairly fast shutter speed?

Oops - they've renamed it, and I don't use the Scenes modes. It's now "Kids & Pets" off the SCN setting.

Exif information is just information about the camera that is recorded with each picture you take. Some applications will strip this information out when you save it. I know that if you use "save for web" in photoshop, it will strip it, while using regular old "save as" will keep the information around.
You can read more about exif here: http://www.digicamhelp.com/learn/glossary/exif.php

Just goes to show you, or in this case me that I need to pay more attention. I have the A610 and never noticed by putting the camera in "SCN" mode, there are other options available, such as kids and pets, indoor, foliage, snow, etc. I'm trying like heck to use full manual settings lately, but will have to give these additional presets a try.

I use my A610 to take pictures from a moving city bus, which really flies around the hills of Valparaiso, Chile. Have only one to show you now but will have more this week.

Was shooting in Programmed mode using an asa setting of 400. A sunny late afternoon through the bus window.
The camera chose 1/1250 at f 8.0
Will take a bus tomorrow and try to get some more data.

One thing I do is try and move the camera with the subject. Sometimes it comes out great. For intance heres one I took of my Daughter on a Go-Cart a couple of weeks ago.
